Which Berries Are Produced in Mexico?
Blueberries
This species is native to the United States, which is also the largest producer and consumer of blueberries in the world.
Mexico grows only blueberries; its significant increase in volume is due to the incorporation of a larger planting area and improved yields.
In the 2018-2019 season, blueberry production grew by 63% to 34,600 tonnes.

Raspberries
A species of the genus Rubus native to Europe and northern Asia. It is a perennial shrub between 1.5 and 2.5 meters high. Its fruit consists of a poly-drupe with a strong, sweet taste.
Production has shown great dynamism, increasing at an average annual rate of 47.9% from 2012 to 2017. This growth is mainly due to the expansion of the planting area for this type of berry.
In the 2018-2019 season, raspberry production grew by 18% to 60,000 tonnes.

Blackberries
Rubus ulmifolius is a species of wild blackberry native to Europe and North Africa, which has also become naturalized in parts of the United States (especially California), Australia, and southern South America.
The flowers are usually pink and sometimes white, while the fruit is a compound drupe, dark purple, and almost black.
In the 2018-2019 season, blackberry production suffered a decrease, reaching 80,000 tonnes.
